Dear Experts,
What are the minimum software / hardware required to implement WAAS between Datacenter and DRC site.
The Routers used on both sides is 3945 with IOS 15.0(1)M2. To what extent does WAAS improve in data
replication between Datacenter and DRC, we have 10mbps MPLS connection for this purpose.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
At a minimum you would need 3 WAAS / vWAAS Appliances. Two of them Application Accelerators on the either side and one Central Manager to manage them. For replication type of traffic it is suggest to configure the policy type as TFO+LZ. I have seen if the replication traffic is not natively compressed / encypted by the application then WAAS can optimize upto 8x - 9x. However this needs to be qualified for the kind of replication application being used.
You can use either the WCCP interception or the Inline Interception depending on your topology. If you want to use the WCCP interception on the ISR G2s above the IOS version looks ok.
Also please refer to the below sizing guide for the selecting the right hardware for this scenario.

Thanks for the reply Kiran. Does WAAS express also needs Central Manager for the management part or WAAS express on both Routers alone can accelerate the data.
