Let's say I have one host site (A) and one remote site (B) connected by a 1.5Mb Frame-relay T1. Servers are at site A, clients at site B.
Would you typically place the same size WAAS box at each end of the circuit? Like a WAE-512 at the host AND remote? This is what I get from the documentation. However, using common sense I would think the remote site would need to be larger.
If the idea is to have files stored local to the remote site, why would I need to have more storage space at my host site?
Just trying to understand.

Tom,
Generally the cores are larger sized hardware due to the fact that there are usually many remotes attaching to the same core(s). If there is only 1 core to 1 edge, then yes, they can be the same size without issues. For CIFS specifically, the files are cached on the edge only. For general TCP traffic, the data "chunks" are cached on both the edge and the core DRE databases.
