Hi folks,
we have a WAAS with the following specs...
Model: WAE-674-K9
Memory: 8192MB
Device ID: 00:21:5e:56:5a:24
License: Enterprise
Interception: Inline
The WAAS has to bypass/pass through traffic destined for the IP’s of 108.171.133.133 and 108.171.134.133 which are our Internet Proxies. All other traffic is to be optimized.
When an interception ACL is applied, all traffic degrades in performance, not just traffic destined for the above IP’s. Can you please explain why?
When the Interception ACL is not applied connection statistics state “Applied Policy” of “PT In Progress” and “PT No Peer”. Traffic to the Proxies are destined for the Internet so we do not have another WAAS at the far end.
When Interception ACL is applied In “Connection Statistics” we see that the traffic is being bypassed by the Interception ACL “PT Interception ACL”, so it looks like it’s configured correctly. However we are also seeing traffic destined for these IPs with an “Applied Policy” of “PT In Progress”.
thanks
Dave

What sort of throughput are you trying to push through this unit?

Not much, around 12mbps.

With it being installed inline, are you sure the speed and duplex of all the interfaces is matching?

yes, all the basics covered. The WAAS operates ok without the Interception ACL, with it everything slows down.
