WAAS Management

                   Hello,

In a scenario where we use a WAAS appliance as a management box for the other WAAS's is there any reason why a small box i.e. WAVE-274 shouldn't be used to manage several big boxes i.e. WAVE-574?

Thanks,

Garry.

absolutely. In fact I would say that is the normal scenario. Even a small WAAS device can manage many large devices when in CM mode.

The official line (if you want support, etc) is a CM is essemtial.

If you just want to tinker with a couple of devices in a lab, and just love the commend line, then physically it would work without a CM. But it would be unsupported.

Hi John,

Ok thanks that does sound like the right thing to do.

Many thanks,

Hi,

So having a management WAAS is essential or an option?

Regards,

Garry.
