WAAS MTU Discovery

Reading the documentation it would seem to suggest that with IP MTU discovery turned off the max packet size sent out would be 576 or lower if the next hop MTU was smaller.    This correct?   If so why is it off by default surley turning this feature on would allow for larger packets on the LAN/WAN?

Extract From Doc

"By default, this feature is disabled. With the feature disabled, the sending device uses a packet size that is the lesser of 576 bytes and the next hop MTU. Existing connections are not affected when this feature is turned on or off. "

Good morning,

I believe this is a typo in the documentation.

Based on my own experience, I can confirm that, with PMTU disabled, WAAS will advertise a MTU of 1460 or 1432 (if using WCCP with GRE redirection)

Regards

Daniel
