WaaS & SNMP

I am told that running WaaS has an effect on collecting real-time SNMP data off of my devices. Does anyone have an experience with this?

Hi,

Not quite sure what you mean by "effect" :

1) SNMP polling is UDP, and this is as such not being optimized nor processed specially by the WAAS software (actually it should just be passed through in an inline deployment).

2) However if polling a WAN router for e.g. retrieving line utilization figures, remember that the MIBs do NOT reflect utilization, but only Bytes (and packets) being received & Transmitted. So if a WAN connection is WAASed, you will (hopefully) see a smaller number of bytes being sent and received.

Don't know whether this answers your question, but I've never seen any impacts.

Best regards
