Has anyone tried or done any testing with 5.0.1 software, specifically with Windows 7?
As per the release notes:
It now supports SMB 2 and SMB signing. We are having issues with the fact that WAAS up until now only supports SMB 1.0 and we are hoping that SMB 2.0 support will resolve some issues for us, as well as allowing to increase security by turning on signing.
But I wonder how stable the new version is and what the performance is like? Would be very interested if anyone has tested.
Thanks

Hello Hal,
Be aware that if you turn on SMB signing the optimzations performed will only be TFO/DRE/LZ. The signed SMB/SMBv2traffic is optimized, not accelerated with SMB AO like unsigned SMB/SMBv2 traffic.
We know this is confusing, whence: CSCub42695.
I hope answers at least some of your questions.
Best regards, Peter

Peter,
This litterally means that you will probably not gain much responsetime improvements when using Signed SMB ?
Assume that SMB/CIFS trafic still is very chatty, and this is one of the issues that WAAS is trying to address.
I think your BU has an explanation problem !!

Yep, that is the case to me...
Installed release 5.0.1 in field, enabled SMBAO and getting 200 plus "digital signing" alarm.
Created TAC case, found out that this version is not ready to support "digital signng"
You will get tfo, dre,lz but no acceleration. Good luck
