Hi George,

Starting from WAAS version 4.1.x ,you first need to upgrade the CM and then the wae devices.

So in your case you first need to upgrade the CM to 4.3.3 and then the HO 674 device.

We also always recommend to have all the devices running the same software version, but you can always start by upgrading a few first and test and later schedule the upgrade of other devices.

Upgrading from 4.1.3b to 4.3.3 is tested as per the below WAAS 4.3.3 Release Notes

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v433/release/notes/ws433xrn.html#wp116970

Following is the Interoperability points on the Release Note that you should be aware of  when upgrading to 4.3.3

Below is procedure to upgrade the CM and wae devices

Hi Smita,

Thank you for your response, will try the upgrade within few days.

i have question if possible:

i have 2 actives routers connected to 2 cores 6500 switches and one 674 WAE, there is HSRP between the routers and core switches.

Do i have to put the 764 WAE in the same vlan between the router and core? Inorder to perform wccp interception on both routers using

ip wccp 61

ip wccp 62

or can i put it in different subnet than the routers

Regards,

George

Hi George,

On the router you can create a different subnet for the wae device and configure an ip on that subnet for the wae 674 device. In this case you can use the default gateway on the 674 as the hsrp address and will use ip forwarding as the egress method.

Now you can also have the client/server interface on the router and wae on the same interface, but you will need to use egress method wccp gre return on the router,to make sure to avoid any loops/asymmetric routing issue when using wccp as the traffic redirection method as mentioned in the below documentation link
