WAVE-294 running WAAS 6.2.3

Currently have upgraded from 5.4 to 6.2 version of waas, but lost my virtual blade license in the process.  Cisco is saying I need a central manager along with Akamai license to run a one-sided cache solution using either WCCP or proxy redirect implementation.

I want to know if there is a product or a configuration which will enable me to do single sided web cache to cache pages and files.

Going to 6.2.3 requires VM, central manager, Akamai (which doesn't support applications).

Thanks in advance

The Akamai Connected Cache will support all http based applications and act as a standard HTTP cache as long as the cache control headers are set properly to allow that content to be cached. Only when the content is served from Akamai CDN do we get the added benefit of caching content that a any other http cache would not be able too, but for all other traffic we will obey the cache control headers. The 6.2.3 code does support single-sided ssl optimization (SSL interposer) which when configured with a proxy cert allows you do decrypt HTTPS content and store that locally in your cache to be served up directly to your end users. That code also supports full SMB object caching but must be configured in a dual WAE (core/branch) configuration.
