wccp on asa (62 in on outside)

Hello-

Does anyone know if it's possible to apply a wccp 62 redirect in on the outside interface to capture both sides of the conversation? We need this to be able to redirect the return traffic back to a WAN optimization appliance for cloud acceleration. When I try to add the 62 in on the outside, the hit count seems to be very low. Is the inside interface only supported for wccp on an asa?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

WAAS is not supported on the ASA.  Technically, you can probably redirect to a device via WCCP, but you wont get what you are looking for. Check out the last bullet on theguidelines and limitations.  Also, WCCP is only supported on INGRESS not EGRESS.

The following WCCPv2 features are supported for the ASA:

•Redirection of multiple TCP and UDP port-destined traffic.

•Authentication for cache engines in a service group.

•Multiple cache engines in a service group.

•GRE encapsulation.

The following WCCPv2 features are not supported for the ASA:

•Multiple routers in a service group.

•Multicast WCCP.

•The Layer 2 redirect method.

•WCCP source address spoofing.

•WAAS devices.
