Does the RV042 VPN Router have the ability to block spam emails?

Hello

I have a RV042 VPN Router and was wondering if there is any way set that router to help filter out our spam emails. If not, what is the recommended small business spam filter?

Hello Chad,

No, the best the RV042 could do is filter SMTP traffic to you clients based on IP addresses. There are lists of known SMTP SPAM servers with IP addresses and you could create ACL's to block those server IP's coming into your network. How ever generally that list changes frequently and it would take constant maintenance. The best solution is a internal mail server that can be your point of contact for your internal clients and to outside mail servers. Then have a software based or hardware based Spam virus blocker.
