There is a significant demand to have a video source selector button on the front page of the actual video call. This would allow the user to be able to change between cameras that are connected so that a nurse or doctor can easily switch to an examcam or dermascope and then quickly back to the webcam. This function is used for patient diagnosis. An even better solution would be to add a multicam or manycam function to make multiple camera angles available for viewing at the same time.

The Jabber Web SDK (limited to PC browser applications) does provide the ability to select from among the available cameras via the 'setCaptureDevice' request, and with the SDK you can create a softphone-like app with any user interface you like (such as a camera selection button.)
(If you are referring to something else, i.e. the native PC/mobile Jabber clients, then agree this could potentially be a nice configurable option, but not available as of now.)
