Currently we're controlling basic videoconferencing functionality of the SX20 codec through an AMX controller. Now we'd like to control the 4xS2 camera using the VISCA protocol which is connected to the SX20 with a custom plug camera cable (CAB-HDMI-PHD4XS2). This cable according to the documentation supports the VISCA protocol.
I've tried sending VISCA commands directly to the codec, using the serial to usb connection already established for controlling the codec thinking it'd relay the commands to the camera however it doesn't seem to work. There are two usb ports available on the SX20, when connecting a second serial to usb I still receive feedback from the device but I cannot send anything anymore. There is a micro usb port present on the 4xS2 camera, am I suppose to send VISCA commands directly to the camera? Then why is there a control cable between the codec and camera which supports VISCA? Any ideas/suggestions?
