Hi We all by now must have realised XMPP has evolved more than just being a chat client in to a IOT Client.
I want to know if Cisco will support XEP's such as
xep-0322 Efficient XML Interchange (EXI) Format
xep-0323 Internet of Things - Sensor Data
xep-0324 Internet of Things - Provisioning
xep-0325 Internet of Things - Control
xep-0326 Internet of Things - Concentrators
Please comment.
Thanks
Shiva

Hi Shiva,
I assume you're talking about Cisco IM&P (the Jabber server). No, it does not support those XEPs, and I'm not aware of any plans to support them.

If other developers have an interest or business-case that would benefit by the addition of these XEP features, please feel free to comment and let us know!

Hi Cisco Jabber team,
We are building a IOT client using XMPP and we are very excited about it. We have been reaching out to Cisco to understand the Cisco way forward for XMPP/Jabber. Cisco already has a customer base which uses Jabber and we can come up with Jabber 2.0 with IOT support. We want to understand if Cisco will invest in to XMPP - IOT or it will only be CoAP. While CoAP is a great IOT protocol, XMPP is equally great and in many ways much easier to go to market faster with products since we already have Jabber in the market.
Thanks
Shiva
