CSCtn17779 - ACS5 migration utility aborts with errors on Windows 2008 64 bit

Running Migration Utility on my Migration ACS Server (not my production server) to migrate from ACS 4.2 to ACS 5.5, I get "FATAL - Fatal Error !! - cannot connect to ACS 4.x DB !!"

Bug report for CSCtn17779 states to run migration machine on Windows Server 2003 32-bit.

I'm running the migration on Windows Server 2008 32-bit.

Does anyone know if it actually has to be Windows Server 2003, specifically, despite being 32-bit?

Hi Mark,

Please make sure you are not using RDP to run migration utility. Please use vnc to run that.

Not using RDP, nor using VNC, but using the VMWare console--which is a supported method, and is the same as sitting at a monitor and keyboard connected directly to a bare metal/physical server. You can't get any more "on the machine" than that!

Seen issues with 2008. Please use 2003 32bit.
