CSCva63324 - CUCM Upgrade Fails due to multiple GBNP

Hi,

This is the bug page https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCva63324 but essentially the bug means that a CUCM upgrade fails if the installation has had more than one version of the UKNP installed prior to the upgrade, for example if a newer version of the NP had been applied.

The bug report makes no qualification, for example it does not seem to limit which versions of CUCM it affects, although I guess that it might only be 11.5 and later since the bug was first reported quite recently.

I currently have a stalled upgrade that failed due to this bug, and the documented work-around does not resolve it.  This case is currently with TAC who've asked for a pile of logs but at this stage do not have solution.

 

Has anyone else either experienced this bug and found a solution, or have any background information regarding how to avoid hitting it?   For example does it only affect upgrades to 11.5, or is it specific to certain versions of UKNP?

 

I have two additional 9.1 -> 11.5 upgrades that I need to plan for, and I would very much like these to both run without issue as downtime/change windows are not so easy with those customers.

 

So any background information would be of assistance.  

 

If it avoids the bug I would be quite happy taking these three clusters up to 10.5 instead of 11.x, that would meet the immediate requirement which is the upcoming end of support for 9.1.
