While our symptoms were different, the conditions of large number of chat rooms and chat messages applied, we too found this bug corrective action to resolve our issues. Our symptoms were of consistent performance issues to the point where it was unusable within Persistent Chat rooms and also exhibited high CPU.
By applying the two indexes, the CPU dropped immediately and confirmed that the 2nd index was being heavily used.
Cisco should take the action to issue an advisory of the bug to all Persistent Chat customers
