CSCve49657 - 88XX IP Phone buttons flash red, amber, and green

I too am having this issue, 3 8811 phones.

 

I am running firmware 12.8. I had 1 phone for a year doing it now I have had 2 in the last week.

Same here with 4 8851, i had one Phone in 2021, one Phone in 2022 and today 2 Phones developed this Problem.
With my first phone i did the recommended steps like downgrading/upgrading multiple times with different FW versions

The phones are running 2 different FWs atm: 12-5 and 12-8
As i upgraded to CUCM 14 one month ago i am going to test the 14-2 Firmware which was released 5 Days ago. (18-Jan-2023)

Also having this issue on our 8800 series phones. They're all running 14.1

Seeing this issue for the first time on a single 8851 running sip88xx.14-2-1-0001-14.
I have over 10K 88xx phones in my environment but no other reports of issues at this time.

Firmware downgrade to inactive version, factory reset, etc did not work.


The lights start flashing as soon as the phone gets power (before it boots up) so I wonder if there is a bug in the boot loader

I was able to fix the issue, downgrading the phone to a lower version. 
Could be that something goes wrong while the upgrade process that breaks the boot loader.
