Post the complete output to the following commands:

sh platform
sh platform software mount switch <SWITCH MEMBERS> r0 | include ^tmpfs.*tmp | exclude /tmp/

I want to see the output of the 2nd command from all switch stack members.

NOTE:  I don't see this bug appearing in 9300 running 16.12.3a.

sh platform software mount switch active r0 | include tmpfs.*tmp
tmpfs 58264 7946812 1% /tmp
tmpfs 8754620 4053504 69% /tmp/rp/tdldb
tmpfs 284 12807840 1% /tmp/fp/tdldb
tmpfs 0 12808124 0% /tmp/cc/tdldb

if i use your command with exclude, it shows just "tmpfs 58284 7946792 1% /tmp"

so is this different case, if i have trouble with "/tmp/rp/tdldb" ?

i see this in log : %PLATFORM-3-ELEMENT_TMPFS_CRITICAL: Chassis 1 R0/0: smand: 1/RP/0: TMPFS value 55% above critical level 50%

thx for reply im going into production in 1 week so im nervous...

Wait ... I know what this is.
Do you have EPC (enhanced packet capture) enabled?

No, i don't. Its brand new switch, i just configure trunk ports, portchannels, radius & tacacs server and some access-list, anything else is default.

tmpfs 58264 7946812 1% /tmp

This bug can only be found in this folder.

Here's another way to determine if you have this bug or not:  Do you have a crashinfo file?  If you do, attach it so I can have a look.

It doesnt restart yet, but the usage of this file is increasing about 4-5% per day so... its just matter of time

Read THIS.

You need to raise a TAC Case because someone (either you or the TAC engineer) needs to get into shell access.  Only TAC can generate the challenge to get into shell.

Sorry man,.. its not 9300 but 9500 -  C9500-48Y4C... does it matter? Should i also  raise a TAC Case? I have more than 60 new swtiches so its confused me...

Yes, it does. This bug does not affect 9500.
I think you need to raise a TAC Case.

I have same issue in 16.12.4.... so, yes indeed, which version to upgrade to?

Stay away from 16.12.X.
Downgrade to either 16.6.X or 16.9.X.

EDIT:

Go HERE and have a look at the troubleshooting method.  Cisco TAC is very adamant this bug is exclusive only to 16.10.X and 16.11.X.

Hi All, Thanks for your help. I upgraded to 17.3.3. Up till now (2 months later) it is holding and doing the trick. Thanks.

We have the same problem with a 9500-40A. We used 17.6.3

%PLATFORM-3-ELEMENT_TMPFS_WARNING: Switch 1 R0/0: smand: 2/RP/0: TMPFS value 41% above warning level 40%

So looks like updating the switch is not the solution (so far)

This is a different bug, CSCwa62442.
