This problem can be partially resolved by using following steps:

I tried this and it will let you open the config via ASDM, so it does work. However, none of the FirePOWER tabs are available.

I still get the error after replacing the jxbrowser files
Caused by: com.teamdev.jxbrowser.chromium.internal.EnvironmentException: Unsupported operating system. Supported OS: Windows XP (SP2), 7, 8, 10, Vista, 2003 (SP1), 2008, 2012, Mac OS X & Linux. Current OS: Windows Server 2016

Top man! Worked for me. Considering that this bug has existed for so long, I am surprised that there is not an official fix!

I downloaded the jxbrowser-7.39.2-cross-desktop-win_mac_linux version, extracted and replaced the files as given in the initial responses, and was not able to communicate with the firewall. I then downloaded bsr29's files and have the same result. I am running on Windows 11 with the ASDM version of 7.20(2) and the ASA version of 9.16(3)23. which are about the latest I can get. the FirePower module is running on version 7.0.6 (build 236)
Is there anything else I can do? being forced to update to windows 11 soon.
Thank you!!
