CSCvx32807-False positive alarm: IOSXE_RP_ALARM-6-INFO: ASSERT CRITICA

I have reviewed this open bug.  First of all, I would like to ask the question, Is Cisco going to fix it?  It does not appear as such being that they have not attempted to fix it over multiple versions for the at least couple years or more they have been aware of it.  Our network is running 17.9.6 on this router which indeed is impacted as well as the many other IOS-XE versions.

Second, we have more than a pair of these ASR1006-X routers but only run them with a single RP-3 module in each.  So apparently this is a problem on both configurations using dual and single RP-3's.  Contrary to what is stated in the bug workaround, resetting FAN module 1 DOES NOT get rid of the critical alarm LED for our hardware configuration with the single RP-3.  No other problems, but this indicator is just annoying.  I think at a minimum Cisco should update the bug to state that the problem blankets a broader configuration and the work around does not always work and also state whether or not they are going to correct it. Depending on the response I get here may determine if I open another case against this issue.

Sorry, misread the Fixes. Thanks for setting me straight. However, strangley, they seemed to have just skipped over fixing this in version 17.9.6 according to my experience and what is on that fix list.  I am opening a case to find out what the thoughts are for a work around and/or fix.

  - @DALE RADSPINNER   - Usually one of the goals of new version is to fix bugs in previous versions, as such what you want would at least need another name for the version in that train, otherwise everybody would get confused or experience different behavior for the 'so called same version'....
