CSCvx36033 - No Clients are shown in Prime Infrastructure 3.9 Maps

CMX Release Notes:
After upgrading to Cisco CMX Release 10.6.3, the Cisco Prime Infrastructure stops displaying clients on the Cisco Prime Infrastructure map. This is due to the deprecation of V1 and V2 client API calls in Cisco CMX Release 10.6.3. Cisco Prime Infrastructure Release 3.8 and older versions use V1and V2 API calls to CMX to get the client information and hence it fails. To work around this issue, in the Cisco Prime Infrastructure Release 3.9, there is an option to specify the Cisco CMX V3 API credentials while adding Cisco CMX in Cisco Prime Infrastructure and thus Cisco CMX Release 10.6.3 works with Cisco Prime Infrastructure Release 3.9.

Solution:
login to CMX via SSH / Console

create API user + password:

cmxos apiserver user add

In Prime go to:
Services / Mobility Services / Connected Mobile Experiences

and add API User + Password to the CMX configuration

This works for me!

OK, after much testing and verification, we are up 100%. Close this ticket please.

Please note:

This was accomplished by wiping out the CMX and manually adding each WLC in CMX GUI.
First attempt utilized import from Prime and failed.

These settings MUST be followed:

1. Add controllers to CMX, under advanced in the initial setup screen (just below the import from Prime)

2. Controllers must have Prime as a SNMP host V1 (V2c didn't seem to work)

3. MSE must have an API call to Prime.

Solution:
login to CMX via SSH / Console

create API user + password:

cmxos apiserver user add

copy/paste the exact cmd above into CMX cli. It will prompt for username and password.

In Prime go to:
Services / Mobility Services / Connected Mobile Experiences

and check the box to edit API User + Password to the CMX configuration

Enter the same user/pass created on CMX

4. Controllers must have MSE listed as SNMP host V2c (I have mine as both public (RO) and private (RW))

These 3 steps are what got my CMX and Prime to cooperate
