"show etherchannel" isn't an option on mine (5516-X running 9.16.4.14).
"show port-channel summary" is there, though. Here's what it gives:
dal-asa2# show port-channel summary
Flags: D - down P - bundled in port-channel
I - stand-alone s - suspended
H - Hot-standby (LACP only)
U - in use N - not in use, no aggregation/nameif
M - not in use, no aggregation due to minimum links not met
w - waiting to be aggregated
Number of channel-groups in use: 2
Group Port-channel Protocol Span-cluster Ports
------+-------------+---------+------------+------------------------------------
1 Po1(U) LACP No Gi1/1(P) Gi1/2(P)
2 Po2(U) LACP No Gi1/3(P) Gi1/4(P)
I have a couple other 5516s that look similar to this, in terms of "show port-channel summary" output.
"show port-channel" and "show interface port-channel N" and "show interface gi1/N" all look okay to me.
