workaround for failure to upgrade *.rfb file first

Installed sx200_fw_1.3.7.18.ros

Original Firmware was 1.3.0.62

I cannot install the latest: sx200_fw-1486.ros

I tried to force: sx200_boot-13506.rfb
No Go

I saw comment below:
If version 1.3.5 or later is installed using the original boot loader, the file system will
not be upgraded, and in the future the user will not be allowed to upgrade to
versions higher than 1.3.5.

Is there a work around?

It looks like using the TFTP to send the boot loader is the work around.

This Switch has a GUI and the GUI will not take the newer OS with out having a newer boot loader.

I found a post that made it sound that you were stuck if you did not apply the boot loader first.

So install a TFTP client with the needed OS and apply it from the GUI upgrade (select TFTP not HTTP).

It seems to work.

I will have to wait for the scheduled reboot to see if the new OS will allow me to assign vlans to ports

Sorry for the panic.
