First order of business, I've read as many previous questions and all the Q&A for the Power Calculator and none of the answers quite make sense to me at this point. Let me start off with I used the Cisco Power Calculator on an ASR 9922. After configuring it, the details section is what makes not sense to me. Here is what I've seen:
Looking at the chart, what doesn't make sense is how can your Typical Output Power (which is what you get from the PSU) be so much less than the Power Used at 40C? I can't find a calculation that makes up for the difference between the Typical Output Power which is rated at 27C and the Power Used at 40C. Can anyone explain how you can consume more power than the PSU gives you? This isn't calculated thermal load or the number would be 615 x 3.41 = 2097.
