PC/laptop recommendation for CCIE R&S?

I am going to buy a new system for my CCIE R&S preparation so I am looking for some recommendations. Those who are preparing for CCIE lab, or have attempted/cleared lab before, what is/was the configuration of pc/laptop that you used while studying and running emulations? Also which one is better laptop or desktop pc (workstation)?

Actually I am worried that if I buy a laptop, later when I get into exhaustive lab preparation, my laptop shouldn't be the limiting factor to effect my preparation.

If I go for PC or laptop, what am I looking for? ram, processor (xeon, i7), hard disk etc?

Thanks

Are you planning to run GNS3 on your laptop? I have found that GNS3 works better with Ubuntu than Windows. You could look at buying an inexpensive Dell 1900 or 2900 server and using VMWare to run IOU for virtual routers.
