Router doesn't know I've moved house

Hi, I have a Linksys ES3200. I have recently moved house and took the router to the new home. When I run applications that require location services these applications still think I am at my old address. I had a visitor from abroad who had never logged onto my network before and his location services were showing him as being at my old address. Using e.g. A phone with 3G identifies the location correctly it is only when connected to my home network.

the router had a reset when we moved but somehow it thinks I am still at my old address.

Help!

It has nothing to do with the equipment you have. Location informations are derived from outer IP address you are using and it's heuristic. If you have same IP address as in old house, then no one external can recognize you location has changed.

Your only chance is to contact administrator of location database and provide them new IP<->location binding data. Note there are more than one location database/service thus you need to identify what's one is used in your particular case first.

But you are asking your question in inappropriate forum. I would like to kindly ask you to use blue [ EDIT ] button to move it to Community Corner -> Cisco Cafe

Thank you.

Thanks Dan, I've moved this to correct forum (I think!). I'll try and contact service provider to see if they can help out. Surprised I have the same IP address as when I moved house I also changed supplier.

Thanks for the pointer, at least I can now target my efforts
