My company is current upgrading the IOS of our devices from the older version to the new version for the device using Cisco DNA Center. Some of our ISR routers have version level at 16.9.5. When we update the IOS to 17.9.5, the router goes into controller mode and technical intervention is needed to restore back to autonomous mode. Is there a way to upgrade these devices and have it remain in autonomous mode?

Are you guys loading the right IOS on the DNAC ? If you are not using SDWAN, you should use the IOS-XE not IOS-XE SDWAN version.
