Hey guys, as a part of the CCNA/CCNP lab and home network upgrade I'm doing, I purchased a Cisco 4948 Switch with a WS-X 4991 Fan Module in the rear that came with it, along with a Cisco 3945E Router that will be arriving next week.
The switch is configured and ready to go, however, she is rather...noisy.
Now if its gonna harm the switch then I wont do it, but is it safe to run the switch without the fan tray?
I dont have any heavy services running off of it and I've got maybe 2 devices connected to it at one time, out of the 8 ports that I'm using.
