Maximun connections of IP sec VPN tunnels for BYOL and AWS AMI

We are thinking about adopting CSR 1000v to connect branch offices.

The maximun of IP sec VPN tunnels is very important fodder for making our decision.

But, as far as I have confirmed, there were no statements about it under official Cisco documents.

So I want to know the maximun or documents which mention it.

Thanks.

I don't know the answer for sure.

My understanding was you paid for a throughput licence.  So lets say you paid for 100Mb/s.  Lets say you wanted each VPN tunnel to have 2Mbs - well you have limited yourself to 50 VPNs.  I believe you could configure a crazy number, like 1000, but you wouldn't have the bandwidth to support for need.

Thanks, Philip!

I'm worried about the difference between BYOL and License Included AMI.

This disccution suggests that there was difference.

May I assume that such a difference is lost today ?

As I mentioned, I think there are no statements about the difference now.

That article does not list any differences in functionality. It is just about how you want to handle the licence.

I got it.
Thank you for answering my question. I appreciated !

Hi Shogo Tasai

The number of IPSec VPN tunnels is not indicated on the data sheet of the Cisco CSR1000v, but we found a release note that says there is no cap on the tunnels that you can utilize on this cloud-based router. Here are two links: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/csr1000/release/notes/csr1000v_3Srn.html
