Hi All
I am trying to install CML 2.8 on a HP Proliant DL380 G6 and get an error during the 'running early commands' just after the 'running chvt 1'.
The response is 'An error occurred. Press enter to start a shell'.
Regards in advance
John

I'm getting the same error also. CML seem incredibility difficult to do a bare mental install compared to EVE-NG and PNET-Labs

Hi @John Ibbotson @Wavetek75 , When CML is deployed on bare metal, it requires good network bandwidth from the PC when you mount the iso, i have seen that error when the server is not able to read from the ISO. Once you get the error, you can enter shell and try the command dmesg and it would show there are I/O indicating that it could not read from the ISO.
Work around would be try mounting the ISO from a PC which is local/close to the server. Alternatively you can also create a bootable iso in usb flash drive and try to boot from it, instead of mounting the ISO remotely.

I actually used a USB thumb drive and used Rufus utility to make the ISO into a bootable USB thumb and ran the install that way. I'm wondering from your suggestions if I should try another thumb drive or if it is the Rufus utility that is causing this.

HI @Wavetek75 , Once you get the error, you can enter shell and try the command dmesg and it would show there are I/O errors indicating that it could not read from the ISO. In your case you can also try mounting ISO through KVM and also maybe another thumb drive. The "dmesg" command should help your confirm the exact issue.
