I have set up a lab on Cisco Modeling Lab and having problem configuring IP on the desktop. I did the ifconfig x.x.x.x mask x.x.x.x but getting error

when you say "but getting error", can you elaborate on what exact command you have entered and what error you are getting? It would make helping you easier.

I’m not in front of my computer so I don’t have the error. I entered the following command
ifconfig eth1 192.168.0.1 mask 255.255.255.0
i pressed enter and get an error.
Its a virtual desktop on Cisco modeling lab. I think i

Hi Kingofzamunda,
kind of difficult without the exact error information. Maybe you are missing root privileges, try your command by prepending "sudo" to run it with root rights.
If this still does not work, please share the exact output from console.
