Licensing without Smart Licensing

I have a license for VIRL 1.6 and now CML-Personal 2.0 (I have a token I can copy).  I realize that you need to use Smart License to activate it, but my CCO account is tied to my company and I don't have to rights in my company.  Is it really the answer to this to create yet another CCO account for licensing?  Even though it is through my other account?  Why would Cisco create a licensing model where I can not use my CCO (Cisco knows that everyone associates their accounts with their companies)?  Is there a fix for this?  If not, it looks like I'm at a dead end with 1.6.

Hi

If you were using virl and now migrated to cml, this means you have cml personal edition. Am I right?
If so, when you go to your virl purchase, you’ll see the cml 2.0 license token you can apply on your machine. You don’t need smart licensing account. Smart account is needed for cml enterprise version.

Thanks
Francesco
