ASA Sogtware for a 5508-X with firepower

I have a 5508-X with firepower and need to upgrade the software. It is currently running a K8 version (9.8) so I need to go up to at lease 9.8.2.28 to prevent a vulnerability.

The problem is all (including my current version) is k8 versions and my teammate is insisting we need to use a k9 version. I can't find any.

Any one with knowledge or ideas?

Hi

The difference between k8 and k9 is the 3des/aes license.
You can only download the k8 image and then enable the 3des/aes license.
If you issue the command show version, you should see a line with 3des/aes and a status enable. If not, you can get a free license to enable this license.
