Here is what my customer did to resolve, testing fine at this point.
I think we have a fix for the Surfacebook and Surface Pro machines, we have disabled both of the Exclusive Mode check boxes. once this is done and the system is restarted the unit is no longer dropping proximity connections.

Hi johroede,
I had some issues with my Surface Pro 3; the speakers were "clicking" once in a while. We debugged and found this to be an issue with the underlying audio driver, and thus outside our control.
Do you have more info about the issues you are seeing?
Have you tried some of the trouble shooting steps from https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/12159326/troubleshooting-guide-cisco-proximity
?
Best regards,
Henrik

Henrik
Proximity is working well for my customer except for the 7 Surface Books that the Executives use, they are able to connect but they are dropped off proximity and have inconsistent experience. We are thinking it is related to audio or maybe the unit's power saving modes....... I have asked customer to open up a case with MSFT. Any guidance is appreciated.

I still would recommend the troubleshooting steps from the above link.
Some laptops (could be the issue also on Surface Book) has audio drivers doing "audio improvements" that prevent Proximity from picking up the ultrasound signal. Drivers differ on what it's called, but often found in advanced settings in the driver (low-pass filters, echo reduction, microphone boost etc.). Trying to disable these might fix the issue.
