Grey Market switch

Our Contractor bought a Catalyst  3850 switch from grey market and it was not registered under the actual client name but under the Contractor name. Is there any way to re-register to the correct client name.

Will the contractor be blacklisted

@srihariseepani hi, to change end client name, you can contact cisco support or ask vendor to support. if it is confirmed as gray market device, vendor may mark as blacklisted. or cisco can warn vendor. its totally up to cisco.

Yes, it can be re-registered without any repercussion, HOWEVER, the process involved is not just lengthy but also extremely difficult that it is not worth it to get the switch "re-registered" to the correct details.
