2960X switch firmware

Hello,

I have a C2968X 48P and had the "Universal with Web Based Manager" firmware installed. As I tried configuring it to use a new downloaded binary (Not Web Based) in flash, it doesn't accept/authenticate and it and defaults back to the original folder with the binary containing the Web based manager. I even tried the same version and doesn't accept the binary. Once I use a Web Based Manager version, do I need to always used the Web based versions?

If you like to use .bin file rather archieve install.

You need to copy the .bin file in to flash, and change the boot variable to .bin file and write the configuration 

reload and test it.

make sure you take the configuraiton back up out of box.

what was already done ? can you explan also  connect console cable to device reboot, post complete boot log to understand.

before reload, post show version and show boot output

The question was related to the "web based version" vs "binary only" installation and if it always requires web-based versions once installed - Not on how to conduct installs of binaries. I am closing this out - thank you for responding.
