Building Cisco SD-WAN lab

Three years ago I've built in EVE-NG a full Viptela SD-WAN lab, with vEdge, vBond, vSmart, and then even added cEdge (CSR1kvNG). Back then, there was no need to have any of these components call home to Cisco for whatever reason.
Fast forward to today, I've done some light reading and it appears as though with the latest Cisco SD-WAN software, some components must be able to talk to Cisco's online license validation services?

If you using lab you can use viptella sdwan license around available in google to test the lab

yes they do if you have smartnet account, and vManage directly sync with Device details using PNP and you can downloads the config and boot your device with sdwan.cfg that directly interface wth vManage and sd-wan components.
