Can a C3850-IOS-XE Software be installed on a C3750-X Switch/Hardware

never tried it, but I am almost sure it wont work. First of all the image for the 3750 series is IOS and the image for the 3850 series is IOS XE.

Do not waste time - it not going to work. both platform are different.
