Solved: Re: cisco 8200 license

Hi,

We recently purchased 10 new 8200 routers, and we also purchased ipsec licenses for them. All licenses are under our smart account. I installed the licenses according to a guide I found online. I'm not sure I installed properly because after installing I still get an error
a usage report acknowledgment will be required in 89 days. How can I be 100% sure that the license was installed properly and the ipsec will not be disconnected for a few more months. I must point out that our network is closed and does not connect to the Internet. I did the licensing process manually by uploading the file via usb.

@shlomoi the problem is that you are running Transport type CSLU.

CSLU requires internet connectivy or requires that you have a dedicated server with internet connecitivt

You need to disable CSLU by using the following command

license smart transport off

Run the license installation again just to make sure.

license smart import usb0:ACK_all_rum.txt

and run the "show license status" to confirm.

If you installed the license properly nothing will stop working. The message you got should be handle accordingly with the following procedure.

No Connectivity to CSSM and No CSLU: Enter the " license smart save usage" command in privileged EXEC mode, to save the required usage information in a file. Then, from a workstation where you have connectivity to CSSM, complete this task: Uploading Data or Requests to CSSM and Downloading a File.
