Cisco Licenses quick guide

Customer licenses are managed in a Smart Account at software.cisco.com.

Portal access required cisco.com portal User create Cisco User (CCO ID)

The Smart Account name will be the customer email domain name.

Example: John.doe@website.com Smart Account name will be “website.com”.

Process & Validation action:

Customer with an existing Smart Account

Preliminary data.

If there is a problem open request at Support Case Manager (SCM) with following data:

  • Order number - Sales Order.
  • Customer email.
  • Smart Account to which the licenses should be associated.
  • optional
    • The requested license.
    • Line-item row.
    • Virtual Account.

User/ Admin User change (user data is based on Cisco.com User profile can be edited on Cisco.com)

open request at Support Case Manager (SCM) with following data:

  • Smart Account
  • User Email - User or Admin 

New Customer / User

  • Create Cisco user on Cisco.com (Create User)
  • Create a Smart Account license account (YouTube Video).
  • Customer will receive a confirmation email to activate the account from the following email: smart-acct-pending@cisco.com
  • If Smart Account already exist - user need be attached to the existing Smart Account on the software.cisco.com portal (by the Smart Account Admin).

Add New User to Smart account

  • Create Cisco user on Cisco.com (Create User)
  • Customer will receive a confirmation email to approve the Email
    • Approve email, via email approval note sent by Cisco
  • Smart Account Admin need to add the user to the Smart account,

 

Customer with Pending Account

  • Make sure that the customer has a Cisco user, or Create User.
  • If an account manager needs to be replaced, open Support Case Manager (SCM) request
  • Ask who is the administrator (Smart Account Admin)?
  • If it is necessary to send the email of a Current Admin
  • Request to send Provisioning Email  to Smart Account Admin

 

 

Customer that needs few separated Smart Account

Customer can have separated (Siloed Smart accounts) using prefix creating separated Smart account with the same domain.

Example:

Website.com is exist created by John.doe@website.com while another team or unit need Security separated Smart Account by John.doe222@website.com, for OT, Security, DC…

User John.doe222@website.com need to follow

  • Create Cisco user on Cisco.com (Create User)
  • Create a Smart Account license account.
  • Next to the “Account Domain” website.com, click on Edit
  • Add prefix: e.g. OT
  • Customer will receive a confirmation email to activate account from the following email: smart-acct-pending@cisco.com
