For homelab use (and learning of course) what is the major difference between Cisco Catalyst 3650 and 3850 switch. Both ha e two 10G SFP+ ports which would be great use connecting to my Cisco 4500X SFP+ Switch. Thanks everyone.

@blesskri2 i think you can use either switch for home labs. 3850 have higher throughput than the 3650. but if you are only using for configuration learning, 3650 also enough.

3850 switch is newer and better one in my opinion. It supports XE software, bundle/managed modes, should run fine with SD-access and support scripting What are IOS versions? Can old one run XE version? How old is the old switch?
