Firmware Updates for Cisco Hyperflex HX 240c M5 All Flash

I am trying to upgrade from VMware ESXi 6.5 U2 to the most current ESXi build possible for our server. Beforehand, I would like to check for any firmware updates that are available.

Could someone help me find out what firmware updates I need for a respective ESXi version?

Also, where would I go to find, download, and install these updates?

Thank you so much in advance!

Hi Hernandez,

Thank you for contacting Cisco, To answer your question , I might require some additional details like HXDP version, UCS fireware, what type of cluster you are running. In hyperflex system, we need to have compatible version should be running on all system components(UCS, ESXi, HXDP). 6.5 U3 is the minimum version that is supported for the latest HXDP. The latest recommended HXDP version is 5.0(2a).

Please verify below documents before performing the upgrades.

They’re not in a cluster. They are their own separate machines with their own separate IP addresses. They all have the same HXDP & UCSM versions. HXDP Version 3.0(1c) & UCSM Version 3.2 (3h)

Hi Hernandez,

Thank you for the information, I could see the HXDP version and UCSM version are older and unsupported. Upgrading the ESXi version alone to the latest version is not compatible to HXDP and UCS. Hence I highy recommend to upgrade all components HXDP , UCS and ESXi to the latest versions.

Please refer below guide for upgrading HXDP from the unsupported version.
