I try to understand if our 2801 Cisco router uses HDLC encapsulation by looking at its configuration file. The configuration file include the following lines:
….
encapsulation frame-relay IETF
….
frame-relay interface-dlci 17
...
Can I say that router was not configured for HDLC encapsulation (or is it cHDLC?)
Or, does frame-relay encapsulation use HDLC encapsulation for handling Virtual circuits, by default? (No need to write it in configuration file??)
If you answer my question I will appreciate it.
