Hi,
I am working to do some testings for IE3100. As part of our FAT I need to perform POST testing for the switch. When I enabled POST, the switch goes into continues reboot cycle. I have to disable POST in bootloader command prompt to stop this cycle. I just wanted to know what is the reason behind this. I have done similar testing in IE3400 and IE5000 and didn't experience the same problem.
Attachment showing the message before it reboots again is attached in this post.
Note: I have upgraded my IE3100 IOS to 17.12.01 from 17.10.01b prior to POST testing. Thanks

Software induced crash.
Upgrade to 17.12.2 instead.

Thanks Leo, If I have the chance to try it in the future, I'll keep you posted with results.

I have experienced the exact same problem - switch model IE3100-4T2S-E.
Same bug (enable POST, reboot switch, switch has fatal exception during subsequent POST and gets stuck in endless reboot cycle) with both firmware versions 17.12.2 and 17.12.4 (current latest in the 17.12.x line).
Upgraded to firmware 17.13.1 only to discover all the POST commands have been removed from this version of Cisco IOS. A Google search AI response suggests explicit POST commands have been removed from the latest versions of Cisco IOS as they are no longer required as they are built into the normal start-up and diagnostic routines. I haven't been able to confirm that independently but as far as I'm concerned this can be closed out.
POST commands are no longer supported in the latest versions of Cisco IOS. Any FAT/SAT tests that call for them to be run are no longer applicable if running 17.13.1 or later as the commands no longer exist.
