Microphone not working

Hello there. I have been trying to get my laptop's builtin microphone to work in Webex but no solution fixed anything. I have tried every single solution I found on various websites and forums (including this one) but nothing helped. In other programs however, the microphone does work, while in Webex I can only hear a very quiet static noise whenever I speak. My microphone is enabled, every volume bar is set to maximum and I have selected my laptop's builtin microphone in the Audio category of the Webex Options window. My laptop is running the latest update of Windows 8.1 and I have updated Webex as well. I have also tried restarting my laptop multiple times and even reinstalling Webex but nothing helped. It used to work until... well, it stopped working about a month ago and I've been trying to fix this to this day. Any idea what could be causing this and what can be done to fix this? Hi, there are two solutions to this.

  1. Please test your microphone to make sure that your mic works.
  2. Follow this helpful blog that fixes the issue of microphone in windows 8.
