Hi Guys,
Just need to understand on regarding the "no ip redirect command"
Upgraded Nexus 3K device from 6.0(2)A8(7) to 7.0(3)I7(9) version and observed that no ip redirect command is present under loopback interfaces of the old version 6.0(2)A8(7) but it's not present and also doesn't allow to configure it on the Loopback interfaces of new version 7.0(3)I7(9)
Trying hard to search for doc explaining this on why its not allowed or present on the LP interfaces in 7.0(3)I7(9) version
Any help or information will be appreciated
Thanks

here is from my notes :
no ip redirects--this disables icmp redirect messages. Redirects happen when a router recognizes a packet arriving on an interface and the best route is out that same interface. In that case the router sends an icmp redirect back to the source telling them about a better router on the same subnet. Subsequent packets take the optimal path. If you disable this, the packets would have continued using the sub optimal path.
Personally not big effect on Loopback interface, what is the purpose of the Loopback here ?

Thanks for taking time to reply.
My concern is mainly related on why the command is not accepting on new code 7.0(3)I7(9) whereas is its present and configurable on older code 6.0(2)A8(7). The main reason is that a justification is required about this difference observed after upgrade to the client. I did not find any relevant doc explaining this. .After upgrade the no ip redirect command is missing from the loopback interface.

May be command depricated - but what is the concern here, its loopback address ? i do not see any issue.
as i have asked what is the Pupose of Loopback interface here .
