Hi,
Waiting for a quick help.
I have a Cisco switch. "show tech" command output contains "show mac-address-table" section with no mac address table entries underneath. When i run the "show mac-address-table" is gives "Invalid Command Output". But, when I run "show mac address-table" it gives mac address table entries.
So wondering on,
1. Difference between "show mac-address-table" and "show mac address-table" ?
2. Why "show tech" output is giving "show mac-address-table" section and no entries underneath ?
Thank you.

show mac-address-table - as i remember this was old code of IOS version
show mac address-table - you need to use this command to see Layer 2 MAc address on the device.
Note : depends on what device you running this command have difference, if you using latest IOS and IOS XE you need to use show mac address-table

This command like a few others has Been updated or revised. Sometimes i think those revisions are mistakes. Someone has mistakenly changed it or made a typo that ended up in final IOS.
Please always use ? Context sensitive help to fiulgure out command structure.
I think show Mac is correct and recent while mac-address-table is obsolete old IOS version
Show tech is missing new and correct show Mac address command.
