TEAP failure on W10 with vm in bridged mode

I have a very rare use-case. Windows 10 PC running VM Workstation. the VM in question is Windows 10 with its NIC in bridged mode. Both machines are fully domain-joined with appropriate certs. TEAP is set for EAP-TLS user/machine certificate authentication.

If I enable ISE (2.7) for this interface, the vm will authenticate, but the host fails. On reboot, the host authenticates until the vm boots and authenticates, at which time the host fails. The interface itself is set to multi-auth.

The owner of the workstation tells me that bridged-mode is required for his work-flow. We were going to try mapping the VM to a dedicated NIC on the host PC, but haven't gotten there yet.
