License Delayed Activation

AFAIK Meraki license activation starts when the license is purchased, and the clock begins to count down when the license keys are received in email. Correct?

However some deployments are staged & hence are accomplished couple of months later than the key purchase.

What would happen in those cases? Can the lost period be reclaimed?

PDL licensing gives you 90 days to claim and apply to give you 90 days to claim and apply before the license starts ticking. " 90-day license activation window: You will have up to 90 days to claim and assign your licenses before they activate, giving you more time to deploy Meraki products before your licenses burn time."

In the past for some bigger deals, we've worked with our Meraki sales rep to get a few months of free licensing added into the deal. This had helped us with some of the bigger/larger SDWAN rollouts that we've done.

- This is correct, once you receive the shipping notice the license is active

- No, not possible. If you switch to PDL (per device license) then the license is active till applied in the dashboard

Thanks for the kind response.

So,

1. If PDL is disabled the license starts counting down upon shipping notice.

2. If PDL is enabled, the license starts counting down, when added to the dashboard.

Please correct if my understanding of the above is wrong.

Will the sales rep be able to provide a new license key for free or do some backend magic to let the dashboard run free for a few months?
